Oh boy, mates. Oh boy. Just a week after Splendour In The Grass revealed the dates for this year’s mid-winter music jamboree, and we’re already diving headfirst into wild speculation about who might be headlining this bad boy.
One of the main contenders? Arctic Monkeys.
Bear with us, okay – there’s evidence. As pointed out to us by an astute P.TV reader, the Monkeys have just updated their social media pics to coincide with the announcement of a string of festival appearances:

That sure looks like Splendour-sized gap in the touring schedule to me!
What better way to break up a string of boring Euro festivals than with another trip to the Best Little Fest Down Under. Let’s not forget as well that Arctic Monkeys last headlined Splendour in 2007 – surely more than ten years is enough to work up an appetite for an Australian crowd?
Regardless of what they’re planning (and they won’t be able to announce it for some time anyway), strap in for another several months of rampant, possibly baseless speculation as to who is going to be showing up to Byron Bay come July. Fingers crossed for Frank Ocean. A gal can dream.
