Another Woman Has Laid Claims About R Kelly’s Sexually Controlling “Cult”

A woman who claims to have once been a part of R Kelly’s entourage has corroborated many elements of a damning report on his alleged psychological and sexual control over several other women.

Speaking to Jezebel, the woman said she was never one of the six women who reportedly live in properties owned by Kelly. However, she did back up journalist Jim DeRogatis‘ assertions that Kelly would subject the women to degrading, controlling practices and would subject his “babies” to unusual punishments if they stepped out of line.

She also says Kelly described his “Number One girl” as someone he had “raised” since the age of 14 or 15. The woman is currently over the age of consent.
The woman, whose identity Jezebel chose to withhold, says she met Kelly at a gig in 2016. After being invited onstage and then to an afterparty, the pair started a sexual relationship that saw her fly to his home in Chicago, or to his hotels on tour.
During those visits, the woman recalls seeing Kelly telling two women “take off your clothes and act like you miss each other,” before filming on one of at least three iPads totally backed up with similar footage. The woman says their instantaneous reaction to do so was jarring.

“It’s not non-consensual, I guess. But I don’t know if they even realize the situation they’re in is wrong,” she said. She likened the situation to Stockholm Syndrome.
“All these girls are so nice and trusting and young.”
She also described Kelly forbidding the women from discussing their personal lives, or talking extensively to other men. “When we’re out we’re not allowed to look at anyone,” she said, adding “if we’re back in his studio sitting on the couches and he has friends across the room at the bar we can’t look at each other or communicate with each other.”
Notably, she said she had no idea the other women actually lived in his accomodation and had left their families to do so until she read DeRogatis’ article.

Kelly’s representatives have flatly denied any wrongdoing after the initial report.
