Sure they’re called Animal Collective but do Brooklyn’s finest really love animals? Like, really, really, really love animals? Evidently…they do! Proving the band name is more than just lip service, Animal Collective have appeared in a new PETA produced seal-clubbing spot that finds Brian Weitz aka Geologist revealing his background in Marine Biology, Noah “Panda Bear” Lennox suggesting synthetic alternatives to seal skin (he runs a clothing line with his Wife after all) and Avey Tare, who we can infer loves animals the least, not saying much at all.
WARNING: Though we can all agree that Panda Bear’s so-kitsch-it’s-cool wolf sweater is cute, the graphic seal-clubbing towards the video’s end is not. And by seal-clubbing we don’t mean Arctic night spots where animals bump flippers and get drunk on fish flavoured vodka, we’re referring to the bad kind that involves blood and terrible human beings. Look away if you’re squeamish.
