Donald Trump is so notorious for throwing temper tantrums that they’re barely even newsworthy anymore, but this one’s wild enough that we’ll make an exception.
In a recent interview, Liam Payne of One Direction revealed an incident during the band’s heyday when the Donald was so angry with them that he kicked them out of one of his hotels.
It’s not clear exactly when, but some years ago, the lads were staying at Trump International Hotel & Tower in New York, and ran afoul of Trump when they were too sleepy to get out of bed and meet his daughter.
Payne told an interviewer:
“Trump actually kicked us out of his hotel once . . . You wouldn’t believe it. It was about [meeting] his daughter. He phoned up our manager and we were asleep. He said ‘well, wake them up’ and I was like ‘no’ and then he wouldn’t let us use the underground garage. Obviously in New York we can’t really go outside. New York is ruthless for us … So he was like, ‘O.K., then I don’t want you in my hotel.’ So we had to leave.”
It’s not clear whether the daughter mentioned is Ivanka or Tiffany Trump but we sort of suspect the latter. Trump has not responded, and as of yet, there have been no executive orders barring members of 1D from entering the US.
Earlier this week, the president had a go at Snoop Dogg, after one of the “failing” rapper’s music videos showed a gun being pointed at a clown version of him.
Can you imagine what the outcry would be if @SnoopDogg, failing career and all, had aimed and fired the gun at President Obama? Jail time!
