Best Friends Allday & The Veronicas Revisit 90s Teen Drama In ‘Restless’ Video

The power trio of Jess & Lisa Origliassob and Allday has already blessed us with an entirely bloody decent cover of Joni Mitchell‘s ‘Big Yellow Taxi‘ for Like A Version, and this week they delivered again with the video clip for their track, ‘Restless‘.

In what might seem like an odd coupling in theory, but in practice, it’s like they’ve been a collective for years – it just works and I’m extremely here for the gritty indie reboot of The Veronicas, tbh.

The clip takes place back in Allday’s stomping ground of Adelaide, and explores the trials and tribulations of teenage life in the late 90s and early 00s – besting each other on the Nintendo 64, hanging out in your room with posters on the walls, kissing each other at parties, and getting into blues with your mates.

Allday says that growing up in Adelaide was great for his creative pursuits, simply because there was shit-all to do otherwise.

I went back to Adelaide to shoot all the videos for this album and I wanted to capture the desolation and boredom of the place. Growing up in a boring place was fantastic for me because it sparked my imagination; where I’m from is really important to me. We used that as inspiration and exaggerated a lot of the light and dark aspects of the place for this video.

If you missed it a while back, Allday’s headed out on tour to celebrate the release of his latest record, Starry Night Over The Phone, which kicks off in Brisbane on August 23.

Check out the video below, and prepare yourself for a weirdly strong craving for Jelly Belly jellybeans.
