Air Teams Up With Beach House On New Album

Collaboration-prone electro-chill duo Air will release their seventh full-length album in early 2012 and will feature the luscious husky tones of Beach House singer Victoria Legrand.

The record titled Le Voyage Dans La Lune (‘A Trip to the Moon’) is named after the 1902 science-fiction movie by French filmmaker Georges Méliès. Air’s Nicolas Godin says it’s “undoubtedly more organic than most of our past projects. We wanted it to sound ‘handmade,’ knocked together’, a bit like Méliès’ special effects. Everything is played live … like Méliès’ film, our soundtrack is nourished by living art.”

The track to which Victoria Legrand is lending her heavenly vocals is the astrally-themed “Seven Stars”. And after a three year hiatus from Air, we’re guessing the results will be worth the wait.

Le Voyage Dans La Lune will be released on 7 February 2012 via Astralwerks.
