The AFL has today announced that all-around legend and diehard Collingwood Magpies fan G Flip will be the official AFLW 2021 Grand Final pre-game entertainment at Saturday’s massive clash between the Adelaide Crows and the Brisbane Lions at Adelaide Oval.
It’s somewhat awkward considering Brisbane beat G Flip’s beloved Pies by just 4 fucking points over the weekend. Guess she’s gonna be barracking for the Crows, then?
The Melbourne muso — who was born Georgia Flipo — said in a statement that the opportunity is the highlight of her life.
“It’s such a privilege and an honour to be playing at the 2021 NAB AFLW Grand Final,” G Flip says. “I’ve been a footy fan since my Dad put a Magpies scarf around my neck as a baby and I haven’t missed a Pies game this season.
“I don’t just like footy, I love footy. This will be one of the highlights of my life, I’m very excited.”
The AFL has also confirmed that artists local to Adelaide will perform the national anthem and the Welcome to Country ceremony before first bounce.
