AFL Confirms The Killers Are Playing The Grand Final & You Can Watch For Free

HERE WE GO, PEOPLE.

After months of rumours and semi-but-not-quite confirmations, the AFL itself has confirmed seminal early naughties band The Killers will be performing at the Grand Final this September 30.

“I’m so pleased that The Killers have agreed to play on that one day in September as fans of all ages enjoy their music,” said AFL CEO Gillon McLachlan in a statement. So are we, Gillon old boy.

As always, Aussies can attend the gig even if they can’t get their hands on a mint AFL Grand Final ticket. Wanna see The Killers live and also happen to be in Melbourne on Sep 30? You can gain free entry to the MCG for the set from 6pm. Somebody ~hold~ me.

The Killers themselves put out a statement, which I refuse to believe comes from a PR person and instead dropped from the lips of Brandon Flowers himself.

“People of the great country of Australia – let us inject our American rock and roll tunes into your sporting event, please! AFL here we come.”

You all remember the words to ‘Mr Brightside’, right?
