Adele Wins Album Of The Year Grammy

The tributes to Whitney Houston came thick and fast at this year’s Grammy Awards, but the real queen of the night (cringe) was Adele. Not only did the English singer look like a winner, she took out six awards including the big three: Record Of The Year, Album Of The Year, and Song Of The Year.

Other winners of note include Bon Iver who beat out a competitive field of J. Cole, Nicki Minaj and Skrillex for the title of Best New Artist as well as the vaguest Grammys category Best Alternative Music Album; the late Amy Winehouse who received an award in the category of Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for her posthumously released duet with Tony Bennett; and 24-year-old production wunderkind Skrillex who thrice scored during the ceremony including Best Dance/Electronica album, beating out Cut Copy and quashing Australia’s hopes of Grammy victory.

Kanye West won four Grammys for his various solo and collaborative work, and shout outs to the wonderful Louis C.K. who won best Comedy Recording for his aptly titled comedy album “Hilarious”.
