Adele Uses Power Cut During Adelaide Performance To Tell Very Rude Gags

Here’s a shocking but true fact: Adele, crooner of heartbreak ballads, is also a giant potty mouth.

(Pause to let your head explode.)

The swear-happy singer used an honest-to-god power cut during her Adelaide performance to entertain the audience with rude jokes.

“So we’re having a technical difficulty,”
she told the crowd. “I’m not quite sure what it is. Shall I try and tell some jokes?

“Our power has gone out under the stage, so who knows how long we’re going to be doing this for.”

Thanks to a technical issue that was definitely not due to South Australia‘s crippling energy crisis and instead due to her rotating stage pulling out a plug (did… did they not check this in rehearsals?) the singer was left with dead-time for almost five minutes.

TBH, if anyone could deal with that nightmare by shit-talking, it’s Adele.

“Shall I tell you my filthy joke despite all the children here?” she said at one point. “I need more applause than that because I might offend someone.”

“What do you call a blonde standing on her head? A brunette with bad breath.”

She then asked an audience member for joke, and uh…. look. Credit to our friend Grant here. Having a microphone offered to you by one of the world’s biggest superstars and being asked to tell a joke would make most of us forget the English language altogether, let alone a rip-snorter.

But still. Grant pulled out a joke better left to on-sale Christmas crackers.

“Have you heard about the new restaurant on the moon? Apparently the food’s great, but there’s no atmosphere.”

It eventually transpired that the power cut was thanks to the aforementioned plug issue.

“You’ll never guess what it was?” Adele told the crowd as the power came back on. “So you know the band’s stage starts revolving after a little while, well as the stage revolved it pulled the power plug out so all the instruments went off.

“I won’t be revolving that stage again will I! I’ve had an amazing time.

“Thank you for your patience with my absolutely useless banter and thank you for putting up with some terrible jokes.”

The crowd absolutely did not mind the interruption – but Phil is definitely getting fired today.
