World beater Abbey Lee Kershaw has been a noticeable omission from the Autumn/Winter 2013 runway season. And for good reason. The Melbourne born beauty has been busy doing other (better?) artistically fulfilling things like writing songs and starring in NSFW music videos for her non fashion related side project, Our Mountain. The model appears in a provocative David Swanson directed film clip for new single “IV Horses” alongside her just as comfortable in their own skin bandmates Michael Noonan, Thomas Hammer and boyfriend/frontman Matthew Hutchinson, which due to the uncensored full frontal nudity of the aforementioned, has been swiftly yanked from Youtube and Facebook.
Something the band has just as swiftly objected to: “Dear facebook, why did you pull our picture
down and freeze our facebook accounts? Allow me to enlighten you, the
image in question is the focus of human anatomy, the use of nudity
contained in this piece, is film art not pornography nor any
other provocative medium. The following images are honest reflections
of the material and physical structure of human organisms. We are all of
two types of human, male vs. female, these are our bodies.”
The band’s debut album recorded at Marcata Studios with producers Kevin McMahon (The Walkmen, Swans, Titus Andronicus) and Nick Stumpf (French Kicks, Caveman) is slated for release this year.
