A-YO: Lady Gaga Confirmed To Replace Beyoncé As Coachella Headliner

UPDATE: Coachella has confirmed, Lady Gaga is playing.

HOOOOOLY SHIT.

When Coachella announced that Beyoncé was forced to pull out of headlining the festival due to two very precious little bubs housing themselves in her womb (doctor’s orders), the immediate question was: who would replace her, or even who could replace her? How do you replace Queen Bey? And on such short notice?

Well, according to Billboard, it might be none other than Lady Gaga, i.e. the other mega-pop star at the forefront of culture and America‘s national conversation right now. Huge, HUGE if true.

A source told the music publisher that Gaga will fill in for Bey on both Saturday nights (April 15 and 22), and right now officials are finalising plans to bring her huge stage production to the festival.

Apparently it’s important to Coachella organisers that a female performer replace Beyoncé, as she was going to be the first woman to headline the festival since Björk in 2007 (which, FYI, is a DECADE ago).

No official statement has yet been made, but the source says this’ll come in the following days.

Betting company William Hill had Lady Gaga paying $4.50 to replace Beyoncé, coming in at #5 behind Rihanna ($3), Jay Z ($3), Daft Punk ($4) and Drake ($4).

We’ll keep you updated.
