A Very Pregnant Beyoncé Pulls Out Of Coachella, Will Headline 2018 Instead

SHOCKER. We are shocked.

A very heavily pregnant Beyoncé will not be performing at Coachella this year, Associated Press is reporting.

“Following the advice of her doctors to keep a less rigorous schedule in the coming months, Beyonce has made the decision to forgo performing at the 2017 Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival,” a joint statement from Bey’s Parkwood Entertainment and Coachella festival producer Goldenvoice said.

“However, Goldenvoice and Parkwood are pleased to confirm that she will be a headliner at the 2018 festival. Thank you for your understanding.”

It’s not yet clear who will replace her, but we’ll keep you updated.

Bey was scheduled to perform April 15 and 22, with Radiohead and Kendrick Lamar headlining the other two days of the three-day festival (April 14 and 21, and April 16 and 23 respectively). She would have been the first female act to headline the three day desert party since Bjork in 2007.

The stacked lineup also includes Bon Iver, Future, DJ Snake, Martin Garrix, ScHoolboy Q, Gucci Mane, Two Door Cinema Club, Nicolas Jaar, and The Avalanches – and that’s just on Day 2, which until now was very seriously known as ‘Bey Day’.
It’s possible Coachella organisers will play a very skilled game of ‘shuffle’, as getting a high profile artist of Beyoncé’s calibre in at this late stage of the game is tricky in the extreme (not least because, quite frankly, there is no other artist of Beyoncé’s calibre).
Mind you, remember when Frank Ocean pulled out of Splendour in the Grass in 2013? That kerfuffle gave us a little known artist called Lorde.
