The Full ‘A Star Is Born’ Soundtrack Is Here & Oh My Gaga, Feast Your Ears

Over the next 24 hours, A Star Is Born will be unleashed to screens across the States.

Subsequently, the entire A Star Is Born soundtrack was also released to the world this morning in a bid to further lubricate our tear ducts. And if you were expecting an hour-long, extended version of “Shallow”, you’re in for a fucking treat, my darlings.

The soundtrack delivers an electric array of vocals from both Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper. There are two soundtrack versions – one with dialogue and one without – which is great because, as enticing as the dialogue is, we only pressed play for Gaga’s ballads.

And speaking of ballads, we have MANY. Let’s talk highlights, girls.

I’m calling it now: “Is That Alright?” is the piano ballad we’ve always needed from Gaga. It has single-handedly saved 2018, and given me a valid reason to stay at home this weekend and cry myself to sleep every night.

Similarly, “I’ll Never Love Again” features some of Gaga’s finest vocals, as she belts the most heart-breaking lyrics: “Don’t wanna feel another touch / Don’t wanna start another fire / Don’t wanna know another kiss / No other name falling off my lips”.

Did I not warn you about the many extended versions of “Shallow”?

If the soundtrack’s diversity is a sign of what’s to come, boy, are we in for a wild, wild ride. “Hair Body Face” is slightly reminiscent, and a more low-key version, of “The Cure”, with small nods to “Beautiful, Dirty, Rich”. Can you picture that? Good. It works.

There’s also an homage to Judy Garland’s original A Star Is Born with a Gaga rendition of “Somewhere Over The Rainbow”. Weeping.

A Star Is Born hits Australian cinemas 18th October, which is rather criminal considering the film is being released over in the States as we speak. Prepare to cancel your plans for the rest of the month, though – you’ll need time to heal after Cooper and Gaga rip out your heart with their bare hands and tear it into a million pieces.

For now, let us bask in the glory that is “Shallow”.
