A Bunch Of Aussie Bands Are Uniting For A Live Aid-Style Concert For SSM

Hey, you, yeah you. Do you enjoy concerts, live music, and celebrating equality? Have you sent off your postal vote yet? Do you want to spend an arvo with some of our hottest artists at the moment, in a stadium full of people who want to see marriage equality come to fruition?

Spotless Stadium is playing host to YesFest on Sunday October 29 – a packed out one-day festival where artists like Client LiaisonJack ColwellTkay Maidza, and Flight Facilities will perform and blast out DJ sets to promote the need for everyone to return their same-sex marriage postal vote.

The festival will also follow the lead of other ‘yuge fezzys around the world like Coachella and be streamed live on YouTube, so if you can’t make it to Sydney at the end of the month, you’re not gunna miss out.

So who’s playing on the day, you ask? Well mate, grab a seat but you’ll only need the edge because it’s gunna be a belter of an arvo with:

Client Liaison / Elizabeth Rose / Flight Facilities (DJ Set) / Heaps Gay DJs / Jack Colwell / KirinJ Callinan / Killing Heidi / KLP / Megan Washington / Nick Cester (Jet) / Northeast Party House / The Preatures / Tkay Maidza / Touch Sensitive / Jimmy Barnes

These 10/10 acts will be joined by local LGBTQI icons and allies like Jordan RaskopoulosCourtney ActDanny ClaytonBilly RussellChristian Wilkins, and Jackie Loeb.

Oh and it’ll be bloody hosted by ya absolute boy, Osher Günsberg. Hell fuckin’ yeah.

Now this is only the first announcement of artists who will be there on the day, so keep your eye out for the next round of acts. We’ll update you.

The only way that you can get your hands on tickets is by posting off your vote, and then heading right here, right bloody now. All profits from ticket sales go to the Equality Campaign as well, which is really bloody nice.

So hop to it, get those votes in and grab a ticket for this event that will very likely be looked back upon as Australia’s LGBTQI version of Live Aid.
