Now You Can Burninate The Dancefloor To A ’70s Disco Version Of ‘Trogdor’

Did you guys forget that HomestarRunner.com exists? For a horrible minute, so too did we.

And we feel truly blessed that we were reminded of its aliveness by this new video from the Flash video gurus, which sees The Cheat reimagine the metal Trogdor video game theme song as a ’70s disco jam, complete with a very butt-y video clip.

Except the Cheat mixes up the Trogdor, the dragon man/just a dragon with a beefy arm, back story just a smidge. He says the mythical and mighty character originated in a board game, and that ‘Trogdor Was a Man‘ by The Pow-Uh Surge was in fact a commercial jingle, albeit one released on 7″ vinyl. So The Cheat helpfully made a groovy video!

The guys have actually launched a Kickstarter to turn Trogdor!! the Board Game into a reality, and they made more than a US$1 million from over 23,000 backers in less than a month, which is well above their US$75,000 goal. You can preorder for US$40 if you’re keen to help the dragon – who is literally just two differently shaped Ss and a series of consummate Vs – burninate all the countryside and the people in their THATCHED ROOF COTTAGES.

Here’s where we, ’00s surfers of the internet, aided and abetted it by Dial-Up, glorious Dial-Up, first met Trogdor 15 long years ago. You can now play the game in any browser, on any device, HERE.

While HomeStarRunner.com is still alive, it’s pretty sparse these days, because they’re in a middle of a redesign. Flash is dead/defunct from 2020, so it’s about time, but you can still remember your younger self sitting watching this beautiful piece of work on a strangely sticky black roll-y computer chair HERE. They’ve put all their content on YouTube anyway.

There goes the rest of my afternoon…
