50 Cent’s Sex Tape Lawsuit Continues, Despite Bankruptcy Filing

Earlier this week, when 50 Cent filed for bankruptcy just as the punitive damages portion of his sex tape lawsuit kicked in, he raised more than a few eyebrows.
The filing seemed like a stalling tactic for the rapper, who is clearly still rich as balls thanks to his many endorsement deals, and he basically said as much at the time.
“I’m taking the precautions that any other good businessperson would take in this situation,” he told E! News. “You know when you’re successful and stuff, you become a target.”
Plaintiff Lestonia Levinston has already been awarded $US 5 million after it was determined that Fiddy, real name Curtis Jackson III, posted an explicit video of her online without her permission.
Her lawyers argued that Jackson filed for bankruptcy in an attempt to “evade” testifying as punitive damages were considered, and on Friday, a judge agreed.
The case will now resume on Monday, with the rapper now facing the possibility of paying hefty damages on top of the original $5 million.
FWIW, Fiddy clearly has a sense of humour about the possibility of downsizing and being taken to the candy shop cleaners:
