360 Admitted On Q&A That He Now Identifies The Aussie Flag With Racism

Tony Jones and his merry men and women gathered to question the rich and give voice to the poor, with last night’s panel of Q&A consisting of physicist and former rock star Brian Cox, 360, conductor Richard Gill, mathematician Nalini Joshi and actor Miranda Tapsell.

Throughout the course of the night Matt lamented that “There’s so many racist bigots in Australia and they’re everywhere” and admitted that the Australian flag to him now has negative connotations; “I identify that with racism.“ A statement which was greeted with applause from the audience.

He went on to clarify that it’s the “dickheads” – “On Australia Day you see a bunch of dudes walking around with their tops off and they’ve got an Australian flag around their neck” – and that countless times he’s seen racism from those particular people.

As per usual the entire episode is worth a watch and 360’s comments, which will likely be all anyone will want to talk about it – which is certainly not a bad thing if we as Australians think it’s a conversation worth having – are best taken in context.
