Austereo have today confirmed that Sophie Monk, Mel B, Jules Lund and Merrick Watts will bring their unique brand of talking over each other in the endless quest to be the funniest to a revamped 2DayFM breakfast show, following the departure of Kyle Sandilands and Jacqueline Onassis – just kidding, she dead – Jackie O to rival typo Kiis 1065.
According to Mumbrella, the fantastic three made a special appearance this morning on Nine’s Today confirming their appointment; Mel B joined the gang from Los Angeles via video link, and will reportedly appear in a regular segment on the show that won’t nearly be as ¤º°`°º¤ø,¸*¸,ø¤º°`°º¤ø FaBuLoUs ø¤º°`°º¤ø,¸*¸,ø¤º°`°º¤ as Richard Reid’s regular entertainment news cross on Today.
Addressing the unholy use of four hosts in a format traditionally reserved for two, maybe three breakfast disc jockeys, Watts threw the following shade: “To be completely fair Kyle is the size of three.” Good one!
The new Kyle and Jackie O show starts on Kiis 1065 from January 20th; Austereo are yet to confirm a start date for 2DayFM’s new breakfast show [working title] Too Many Cooks.
