2013 Vivid Live Program Announced

Sydney’s annual celebration of lights, music, arts, culture and ideas Vivid LIVE has announced its 2013 program, taking place from May 24 – June 2 in and around the Sydney Opera House.

The eclectic schedule includes previously announced Kraftwerk retrospective – The Catalogue 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 – the Australian debut of R’n’B legend Bobby Womack, the solo debut of Underworld’s Karl Hyde, a spectacular reimagining of the work of Joy Division by Scanner and Heritage Orchestra (also be performing the score from sci-fi cult classic Blade Runner), a tribute to and performance by the original line-up of Australian pop-rock icons, the Sunnyboys and a folk-rock tribute to the work of legendary American folklorist Alan Lomax, Sounds of the South, featuring Megafaun, Fight the Big Bull and Grammy Award-winning Bon Iver frontman Justin Vernon.

Local drawcards include the live premiere of Empire of the Sun’s sophomore album Ice on the Dune as well as appearances from Cloud Control, C.W. Stoneking and a celebration of the life and work of Gurrumul.
