The winners of 2010’s Spirit of Youth Awards were announced last night at Sydney’s Museum of Contemporary Art. Recognized across seven categories – fashion, film, music, photography, industrial and object design, visual arts and visual communication – winners received $10,000 in cash and flights as well as a year-long mentorship with icons in their respective fields. A substantial boost to any creative’s career and not just for the money (one of the mentors if fucking Marc Newson!!!).
A SOYA People’s Choice Award worth $2,000 in Qantas flights was also awarded to Gavin Bufton, an Industrial & Object Designer from Victoria.
