The Aussie Dollar Is At A Two-Year High Against The Greenback So Hello, USA

Good news if you were planning to visit the United States or were planning to purchase a shitload of pure American goods – the Aussie dollar is at its strongest point against the greenback since 2015.

As of 12:30pm today, the Australian dollar is fetching 80.85 US cents. the 80 cent mark has been a tough nut to crack since it was at parity back in 2010. Those were the days.

If you’re interested in the specifics of why its so tasty right now, the boost followed a meeting by the European Central Bank which led to a lowering in the US dollar, and European and US bond yields.

The US dollar has weakened for a number of reasons – the devastation wrought by Hurricane Harvey and Irma included.

There you go, team. Get out there and book a holiday in… I dunno, Savannah, Georgia or something. It was nice when I was there.
