A buttload of people who are killing it in their industries have, at some point or another, interned. There’s no denying that it makes your CV look a whole lot sexier – experience of any kind tends to do that.
But it’s a real learning curve to give your time and energy into an organisation that, a lot of the time, you won’t even be staying at. Also, many internships come at a literal cost because you don’t get paid at all – but people are willing to do it if it means helping them stand out in a competitive crowd.
We’re taking the shitty ‘unpaid’ part out of it. PEDESTRIAN.TV (along with our friends at UTS Insearch) are looking for a young gun intern and we’ll pay you a proper damn salary to boot.So what’s it entail?
The internship is five days long (you know, your usual Monday-Friday, 9-5. Welcome to the daily grind, people! It’s fun! Routine’s the best!) and takes place at PEDESTRIAN.TV’s Sydney HQ, here in Surry Hills.
You’ll get 4 x nights accommodation, city transfers and food allowance, but most importantly, you’ll work with us, learning a thing or 77 about all things publishing.
If you’ve ever thought about getting into journalism or media, this is your change to test the waters and learn what goes on behind the headlines. What you WON’T be doing, however, is doing our coffee runs. We get our own damn coffees, because we’re not humans / monsters.
