We’re all generous people, right? We’ve all given our mates gifts every now and then. A twenty dollar note tucked into a card, an affordable and hardy succulent from Kmart, a shopping centre gift card. Well folks, we’ve all been put to shame: George Clooney apparently gave his fourteen closest mates $1 million each.
Pray for his fifteenth closest mate. Rande Gerber – who is Cindy Crawford‘s husband – appeared on Hardliners to talk about Clooney’s gift, which he gave back in 2013. He says these 13 close mates arrived at Clooney’s house for dinner, only to find a black luggage bag for each of them stuffed with $20 bills.
“There’s a group of guys that we call ‘The Boys.’ George had called me and ‘The Boys’ and said, ‘Hey, mark September 27, 2013 on your calendar. Everyone’s going to come to my house for dinner,” Gerber recalled. Everyone has a group of mates called THE BOYS. Relatable!
We open it up, and it’s a million dollars in $20 bills. Every one of us — 14 of us — got a million dollars. Every single one of us. We’re in shock. He goes, ‘I know we’ve all been through some hard times, some of you are still going through it. You don’t have to worry about your kids, you don’t have to worry about, you know, school, you don’t have to worry about paying your mortgage.
Presumably Cindy Crawford’s husband didn’t need to worry about college fees or mortgages as much as the average joe, but who knows! Maybe Clooney has a couple of working class stiffs as mates.
