Everyone Who Fought Below Mayweather & McGregor Made Chump Change

The full purses of everyone who fought yesterday before the huge Mayweather vs McGregor bout has been revealed.

While it’s well documented that Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor made US$100 million (AUD$125.9 million) and US$30 million (AUD$37.8 million) respectively, the Nevada State Athletic Commission has released the payments offered for all the fighters on the undercard for the night. And they vary from the very-impressive to the actually-kind-of embarrassing.

Gervonta Davis and Francisco Francesa, who we’re the second-highest billed match of the night, made an easy US$600,000 (AUD$755,460.30) and US$35,000 (AUD$44,068.50) respectively. Meanwhile, the highest-paid undercard fighter was Swedish boxer Badou Jack. The current WBA light heavyweight title holder who was in the third-highest billed bout made a whopping US$750,000 (AUD$944,423).

However, spare a thought for Sydney LeBlanc. Not only did she lose the first bout of the night to British Olympian Savannah Marshall, she only made a paltry US$3,500 ($4,406). Meaning that she didn’t even make enough to get ringside seats to her own fight.

Note that these are all the guaranteed purses, as opposed to the full earnings. Full earnings will only be known once ticket sales – which were notoriously slow – and pay-per-view sales are factored in. Considering this, Floyd Mayweather is reportedly set to earn as much as as US$250 million (AUD$314.8 million) all up, while McGregor would get US$100 million (AUD$125.8 million) for his troubles.

Not a bad gig if you can get it.
