The Best Skincare Joints ‘Round Oz For When Your Face Is In Full Freak-Out

Most of the time, your run-of-the-mill skincare routine does the job fine. But if you’ve been hoeing into the beers a little too hard, two family pizzas away from developing scurvy, or ignored every single smart person around you who told you to wear sunscreen every day, you might need a bit of extra help in the skin dept.

This is why treating yourself to a facial or skin treatment every now and then is a solid idea. Whether you want to give your skin some TLC and have a relaxing time, or really get in there and treat some skin concerns like acne scarring or pigmentation, there’s a whole gang of places ’round Australia that have cult followings for their magic hands (and lasers).

MELANIE GRANT, SYDNEY

Melanie Grant is one of Australia’s top skincare experts, and it’s not all hype – celebs like Jessica Gomes, Phoebe Tonkin and Nicole Warne all see her regularly – and judging by their constant no-makeup selfies, she’s doing a bang-up job of looking after their skin. Her facials are bespoke, so expect a visit to be catered directly to you and your skin’s needs – and to also be a bit on the pricey side. But hey, that’s what you expect when you see the best, right?

JOCELYN PETRONI, SYDNEY

Another of Australia’s best when it comes to treating faces, Jocelyn has a whole gang of celeb clientele too – like Rachael Finch and Megan Gale. Jocelyn is all about the experience – her space is all white and blonde wood floorboards with ambient music and natural lighting. It’s the kind of indulgent experience you come out of with max relax vibes.

Don’t know what the hell any of that means? They’re basically all high-tech skin treatments designed to treat harder to budge stuff like acne scarring and pigmentation.

MADE BY SELF, MELBOURNE

Made By Self is all about keeping shit real when it comes to beauty treatments. Their space is playful and adorable (complete with millennial pink sheets) and they totally get that you’re not going to suddenly turn into a health blogger and never let a bad-skin-thing pass your lips ever again. Co-owner Richie Angelo is one of those facialists that’s ~known~ in beauty circles for her excellent work, so there’s that too.

MISS FOX, MELBOURNE

This one-stop-shop will literally sort out your hair, nails, bod and face for ya – and you can even leave with lash extensions. So if you want the Miss Congeniality/Princess Diaries full treatment – here you go.
