Everyone’s Fave Minimalist Water Bottle Has Been Given A V. Extra Makeover

Derek Zoolander was absolutely correct when he said that ‘Water is the essence of wetness, and wetness is the essence of beauty’.

Drinking water regularly is integral to human survival. Staying hydrated keeps you healthy. It ensures your piss isn’t violently yellow. And while we all know the benefits of drinking H2O, chugging down 8 glasses a day can be a challenge.

Why?!

Because water is boring as fuck.

It’s tasteless, odourless, clear.

It’s pretty much the most boring liquid on the planet.

That’s why when Memobottle launched their flat, rectangular water bottles last year, they flew off the shelves.

People were enamoured with the never-before-seen design functionality of the vessels created by co-founders Jesse Leeworthy and Jonathan Byrt. The A3 and A5-sized bottles fit perfectly into briefcases and backpacks, and they’re a serious conversation starter when whipped out at meetings. (Editor’s note: I put mine on my table at uni last semester and got at least three “what are thooooose?” comments.)

Now, the boys are back at it again and they’ve added even more opulence and drama to the hydration experience via some of the most extra vessels we’ve ever seen:

The Australian company’s latest bottles feature swanky metallic lids, leather sleeves and lanyards and copper stands. The company revealed their latest bottles via Kickstarter, and within 9 hours, they received 100% of their $30,000 goal.

At time of writing, $64,227 has been pledged towards the new project.

All of the products BPA-free, leak proof and dishwasher friendly.

While some people might look at the $49.95 bottles and think, “Wow, I would never drop a fiddy on a water bottle”, having a dedicated vessel on your person is actually a huge money-saving tactic.

According to consumer advocacy group Choice:

If you drink two litres a day from the tap, you’ll pay about $1.50 a year. Drink the same amount from single-serve bottles, however, and you could be looking at more than $2800 a year.

And that’s not even taking the environmental impact into account. 60% of single-use plastic water bottles purchased in Australia go to landfill.

If you’re hoping to get your hands on one of the bottles, right now is the best time to do so – you won’t find the H2.O range anywhere else for cheaper than they are right here, right now.

Happy clear conscience-sipping!
