Aesop Launch Their First Homewares Product & Yes, It’s Ridiculously Luxe

Aesop have decided to take their never-failing understanding of chic skincare and home fragrance products, and develop their own homewares pieces. To be honest, we’re shocked the Australian brand, synonymous with upmarket, painfully stylish homes, hasn’t made this foray until now.

Their first homewares item is an oil burner. But it’s not just any oil burner – it’s a 1kg brass beauty that frankly could pass as a sculpture.

The new product is a collaboration between the brand and Henry Wilson, who designed two of their stores. He spoke to Broadsheet about the design.

“Aesop has always supplied essential oils and burned them in their stores, and they were having a lot of requests for an oil burner; customers were asking if they could suggest one to use, but nothing was quite right. It was an opportunity to design something specifically.”

It’s been made using an ancient wax casting process, which allows for minor imperfections that keep the vessel feeling raw and handmade.

You can buy your own for a cool $195, as of September 24 when the product hits stores and online. They are also releasing a new oil blend in conjunction with the burner, called Béatrice – a blend of cedar atlas, patchouli, citrus and woods.
