You Can Buy A House For Under $500K In Tassie, So Here’s A Bunch Of ‘Em

The Apple Isle is looking increasingly appealing if you’re one of those people who a) would love to own a house some day and b) doesn’t have a million dollars. While it can be tough to find affordable property on the mainland, Tasmania has a lot more real estate options for those who are cash-strapped yet hopeful (and aren’t already proud Tassie locals).

If you’ve even been to Tasmania, you’ll know that the place has a lot to offer, like its bloomin’ beautiful wilderness – over 42% of the state is protected and includes National Parks and World Heritage Sites. The people are friendly, there’s cute critters everywhere, and if you’re like me and a sweaty mess in summer, you’ll find the climate to be delightfully temperate.

Plus, the wine, cheese, whiskey and seafood is all A+ …and the Cadbury factory is still just outside of Hobart if you want to pick up bulk Strawberry Freddos.

So if you’re considering a move interstate or you’re a Tasmanian looking for new digs, here’s some very nice places that cost $500,000 or under. Yep, some of them are even cheaper than half a mill.

Extra pocket money for wine and whiskey, yeah?

Since it’s the biggest city in TAS, housing prices are among the most exxy in the state, but some ‘burbs and surrounding areas are still affordable.
