A Tour Guide is there to give the traveller an experience they will never forget.

The future traveller has been waiting their whole life and been saving up for years to go on this tour.

You will be bringing together people from all around the world, showing off the best that Sydney has to offer.

By the end of the tour you will have created a travel family, who have all fallen in love with Australia.

Not only that, but after you’ve given our travellers the best week of their lives on tour, your teammates at Welcome to Travel will ensure that each one of our travellers has the best possible experience in Australia, by being there for every step of their journey for them.

A Tour Guide for Welcome to Travel is a huge part of someone’s journey and if you give the traveller the best experience possible, they will remember you forever.

We know that the hardest part about travelling is always the start, so we want to make sure each traveller has the best possible experience with us.

Let Us Tell You About The Role

  • Although your working week and expectations will be clear, the role will be kept exciting and fresh as no two days are the same. 
  • The working environment can be dynamic and flexible, it won’t be a clock in and clock out kind of role.
  • Our growth to date has been the result of hard work, but also team collaboration. We encourage great ideas from all team members and we are not afraid to implement them/try new things. 
  • We’ll be working hard to build and serve our community when the borders open up.

You will be: 

  • The main guide on our Welcome to Sydney tour.
  • Monday – Meet & Greet, Admin Set Up, Walking Tour, Welcome Meal
  • Tuesday – Food & Drink Day
  • Wednesday – Surf Camp on the South Coast
  • Thursday – Dolphin Cruise, Jervis Bay Beaches
  • Friday – Work and Travel Presentation, Bondi Beach
  • Saturday – One on One Meetings, Bar Crawl
  • Sunday – Rooftop BBQ

You will also be:

  • Arranging people’s onward travels all around Australia and beyond
  • Using our employment resources to help travellers get a job
  • Making sure everyone has the best possible experience
  • Responding to reviews
  • When you’re not guiding, you’ll be working with the team on passion projects to inform future travellers about the benefits of travelling.

If you’ve done a tour and loved it, I guarantee you can still remember the names of the good tour guides you’ve had. That could be you delivering those life changing experiences.

We’re looking for:

  • Self-motivated, confident and energetic

  • Good organisation skills
  • Able to solve problems
  • Experience working with people in either hospitality, tourism or sales*

*This would be a plus but it is not essential.

You do NOT have to be able to drive for this role.

The application period closes on 12 December 2021 and successful applicants will have heard from us by 23 December 2022, with interviews commencing the week starting 3 January 2022.

The role is currently scheduled to start  7 February 2022, although international travel/border announcements could impact this. This is something we’re happy to discuss with you.
