We’re on the hunt for an incredible QC Assistant to join our growing team and ensure the upkeep of Shona Joy garment quality standards.


  • Arrange full size set shipping samples to be measured, steam pressed, and fitted for all sizes/colors upon receiving garments from offshore suppliers.

  • Conduct random bulk garment quality inspection upon receiving bulk delivery of both offshore and local production. Complete report of inspection to identify which garments have approved or rejected for QC Manager.

  • Discuss any production problems found with QC Manager and provide resolution suggestions.

  • As required, obtain cost of alteration from local makers to resolve production issues.

  • As required, oversee alterations of faulty garments either inhouse/outsource upon

    approval Of QC Manager/Production Manager.

  • Provide alteration charge invoice to production department for further settlement with

    offshore supplier (in instance that issue is determined to be the responsibility of

    production factory).

  • Conduct 100% Inspection on garments to be exported to overseas clients, ensuring

    that bulk garments delivered meet expectations / quality standards.

  • Inspect all returns and manage garment repairs if possible. As required, support

    machinists to repair garments.

  • Correspond with design / production teams and patternmakers to identify and explain

    any issues.

  • Work with QC Manager and production team to identify issues and trouble shoot

    technical production flaws.

  • Work closely with QC Manager to ensure shippers are approved on-time according to

    production timeline.

  • Ensure shipping samples are stored in allocated areas and filed as requested by QC


  • Ensure comments relating to inspection / measurement of shipping samples are

    documented as part of garment tech-pack.

  • Keep ongoing record of any garment construction flaws for future reference.

  • Prepare wash tests or dry-cleaning tests when required for bulk garments.

  • Keep record of inspection report for each style and provide ongoing reporting of each

    supplier’s performance valuation at the end of every season.


  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Strong understanding of patternmaking and garment construction.

  • Experience in sample evaluation.

  • Sewing skills.

  • Fluent in Mandarin.

  • Must work well with others and as part of a team.

  • Proven ability to work independently and proactively by taking instructions and

    following through unsupervised.

  • Flexible and adaptable attitude to changing priorities.

  • Comfortable working to deadlines and under pressure

  • Friendly, professional and polite manner.

  • Attention to detail and good with numbers.
