We are Bas and Lokes. Our range of bespoke, artisanal small leather goods are sought out by collectors from New York to Paddington. We are best known for our meticulously handcrafted, high-end watch straps. Watch lovers from all corners of the globe come to us to purchase the perfect straps that complement their timepieces. We’ve been doing what we do for over ten years and we take great pride in the quality of our goods, the way they enhance our customers’ lives as well as the community we have created.
We are a team of two women looking for the right person to join us. This could be an exciting job with a vast opportunity for growth. You will learn a range of skills that will enable you to handcraft beautiful leather goods with exceptional details and finishing. We will train you craft primarily our bespoke leather watch straps, and also make wallets, pouches and other accessories.
We employ a mix of traditional crafting techniques with some modern ones. You will learn the essential skill of hand saddle stitching and machine sewing, using fine hand tools with precision for cutting leather, piercing holes, and selecting the perfect pieces of leather to create each product among other things.
No experience necessary, but you must possess these necessary skills

Fast learner able to work at a swift pace to help us stay on schedule

Meticulous and attentive to detail
Excellent close-up vision and hand to eye coordination
Switched on individual able to recognise problems and help find solutions
Ability to manage projects and follow them through to completion, prioritising and pushing things forward yourself, but calling on support when needed

Location and hours
We are based in a beautiful new warehouse space in the vibrant and buzzing Taren Point area on Bay Road. We are also a few minutes drive from Cronulla.
This is a part-time role wth the potential for full-time within a few months as you improve and our business grows. Starting three days a week from 8am – 4pm, Tuesday to Thursday. Our space is fun, passionate, and positive, there’s always good music playing and a tiny mini brown poodle around for pats.
