We are currently seeking applications for a Warehouse & Inventory Manager. This is a career opportunity for a motivated and experienced professional to join our growing team, located in our Sydney warehouse and studio (in Rosebery/Alexandria).

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 3-5 years’ experience working within a premium/fashion brand, with a proven track record in inventory management, warehouse management, logistics and order fulfilment. Working closely with internal departments, the Warehouse & Inventory Manager will be responsible for the Matteau warehouse and inventory control, as well as receiving and distribution operations for both wholesale and direct-to-consumer orders, working in a fast-paced environment. 

Key responsibilities

  • Managing receiving, handling, storage, pick and pack and dispatch of products for both wholesale and direct-to-consumer (DTC) orders, and internal stock movements
  • Control all stock movements within the warehouse, including incoming, outgoing and product returns/exchanges
  • Oversee daily operations of the warehouse, maintaining documentation and monitoring operations
  • Tight control of all inventory in the warehouse to ensure accuracy
  • Work closely with the Production department throughout the production process to forecast delivery of products to ensure the warehouse is ready to receive and pack stock for wholesale orders / pack inventory on rails and shelves for internal inventory
  • Communicate with Marketing department on inventory ready status for launch / inventory levels for marketing purposes
  • Work closely with the Sales department in relation to all wholesale account requirements for shipping and dispatch, ensuring all paperwork is in order, export approvals and paperwork is submitted and invoicing is complete
  • Packing and palletising of stock for wholesale order shipments
  • Weekly meetings with Sales and Production departments to monitor sell-through for both DTC and wholesale clients, highlight inventory with strong STR that will require additional production, communicate key insights and escalate areas of concern
  • Work with internal departments on the development of internal critical paths for delivery of collections and required staffing to manage fulfilment
  • Work closely with internal departments including Sales and Production to arrange in-season stock re-cuts where demand warrants, ATS replenishment orders for wholesale clients
  • Ensure accurate and detailed record keeping of warehouse activities
  • Update internal inventory software to ensure accuracy, maintain stock locations, manage stock takes and stock adjustments
  • Deliver exceptional customer service in the fulfilment of wholesale and DTC orders
  • Manage customer service communication, responding to enquiries relating to order status, order delivery, refunds/exchange requests
  • Maintain a culture of continuous improvement across all service areas
  • Create and maintain a safe, clean and tidy workplace in accordance with OH&S requirements
  • Track and manage warehouse costs against budget guidelines
  • Arrange temporary staff rostering around key delivery periods
  • Ordering and purchasing all warehouse consumables and equipment
  • Procurement of logistics services and warehouse suppliers
  • Liaison with third party warehouse providers as required, both onshore and offshore
  • Management of all logistics including liaising with transport providers, suppliers and clients
  • Maintenance of Inventory department work-in-progress notes for internal communication
  • Longer hours may be required at certain periods around main collection deliveries

  • Thorough understanding OH&S requirements with relevant qualifications
  • Strong belief in sustainable and ethical production practices, with the conviction and desire to ensure this filters through all areas of the business
  • Strategic and forward thinking and able to anticipate issues and threats, ability to take initiative in problem-solving
  • Strength in reporting and budgeting
  • Proven team management skills
  • Good knowledge of WMS and inventory management software, Excel, Word, Google Drive
  • Physically fit and strong for movement and lifting of cartons within the warehouse
  • Valid Australian drivers’ licence
