Sydney - North-shore & Northern Beaches

Posted 16 Oct 2020

Closes 15 Nov 2020

For more than 40 years, Roland has produced innovative musical instruments that have inspired countless musicians.  Our guitar brand, BOSS, is the market leader in amplifiers, effects, loopers and tuners. – but we’re guessing you already knew that.

Roland Australia is seeking a full-time Digital Marketing Assistant to help create, edit, publish and promote content on our social media channels and blog.

We don’t want someone to write about specifications and in-depth details; we already have people to do that, although you will need the ability to add flair to their work to ensure maximum engagement.

Instead, we need someone who understands the applications of musical instruments and can relate to the different types of musicians. In essence, we need someone that can help produce inspiring content and also respond to online questions & comments.

Of course, there is no point in producing compelling content unless people see it, so the right person would probably already know something about audience targeting and the different communication languages required for each social media channel.

The end game is for you to run a variety of different highly targeted campaigns, measure the results and make suggestions for further improvement.

There is also a global component to the role, so you will be expected to roll out global promotions on a local level to the required standards and possibly help out with digital marketing in some Asian countries.

You will be part of a vibrant team, surrounded by like-minded individuals who also have a passion for making music.

With our office based in Dee Why, Sydney, we have a flexible work environment and an expectation to spend some time in the Roland offices.

The successful applicant will have the following skills and experience:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with a creative flair
  • Play Guitar as a first instrument, but have a very good all-round knowledge of drums, piano/keys, synthesizers and electronic dance music
  • An understanding of different marketing channels (e.g. YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, Blog) and how to use them
  • Ability to take ownership and responsibility for projects; self-motivated and can work unsupervised and meet strict deadlines
  • Reliable, proactive “whatever it takes” attitude
  •  Videography skills would be seen as advantageous, as would bilingual ability

Special Note:

Most importantly, we only employ people that fit the ‘Roland’ culture, so it is critically important to have a ‘can-do’ attitude. Simply put, there are a lot of steps and a variety of different people involved when running a digital marketing campaign, so if anyone drops the ball along the way and it is within your power to fix it, we expect you to jump in and help out.
