We’re looking for a creative thinker to develop publicity and  awareness initiatives for The Australian Ballet. This role requires an energetic storyteller who will deliver exceptional communications that reach new audiences to elevate The Australian Ballet’s brand.  With our rich heritage, beautiful content and inspiring stories, you will be empowered to build coverage and relevance with influencers and everyday Australians.

Reporting to the Public Relations & Communications Manager, you will develop PR and implement activities to grow audiences and drive sales for The Australian Ballet.

Key initiatives include driving thoughtful holistic campaigns which leverage traditional media channels, new media, key influencers and stakeholders.

You will work within the broader marketing and commercial division, with specialists across marketing, creative, digital, customer experience, content and broadcast.  Collaborating across the business is a part of our daily routine, with direct working relationships with our dancers, artistic team and creatives who come together to bring our storytelling to life.

Desired Skills and Experience

The Publicist will bring superior understanding of the evolving communications landscape with previous experience across the following areas: corporate relations and communications, media relations, publicity, influencer relations, talent management, events and community engagement. The ideal candidate should have exceptional writing skills with more than five years experience developing plans and executing campaigns for iconic brands.

Excellent contacts and a deep understanding of how to build relationships at all levels is critical. You will demonstrate creativity and fresh thinking and embrace collaboration across the team to showcase the essence of The Australian Ballet’s brand.
