Assembly Label was established in May 2011, with a prophecy to construct simplified clothing and lifestyle pieces for the everyday needs and desires of an audience who appreciate purposeful, well made products for relaxed coastal living.

Assembly Label is currently looking for an experienced product developer with a strong garment technician background who will be responsible of managing the critical path through design, development and production. You must be a forward thinker, have strong communication skills, with an obsessive eye for detail.

You will bring our collections to life by building specification sheets, travelling offshore to liaise with suppliers and managing the critical path of both development and production.

 

THE ROLE

Reporting to the design team to interpret new styles

Creation of all tech packs / specification sheets and efficiently communicating with off shore factories

Assist in updating CADs when required

Manage and update the design/ development schedule and report to the Design Manager weekly on any issues that may affect sampling timelines

Pre-measure all samples prior to fittings and note any variances & any workmanship issues

Schedule fortnightly fit sessions with the design team and communicate alterations clearly to offshore suppliers.

Update tech packs / specification sheets and sign off for production

Manage and update the production schedule and report to the stakeholders weekly on any issues that may affect development and production delivery timelines.

Assess and communicate the approval of all shipment samples and communicate major issues with the stakeholders

Travel to offshore suppliers a minimum of 3-4 times per year to ensure QC & SMS / production deadlines are met

Negotiate with offshore manufacturers to improve quality, costing and margins.

 

 

        The Ideal Candidate would possess the following skillset:

5 + years’ experience in similar production/quality control/garment technician role

Qualification in product development

Proven understanding of off shore manufacturing and retail business acumen 

Exceptional numerical and analytical and communication skills 

Attention to detail in both workmanship and overall quality of a garment 

Advanced computer skills in Word, Excel, Adobe illustrator

The ability to work to deadlines in a fast-paced environment
