DL COMMS is looking for a PR star with a passion for news; a talented person currently studying or recently finished a PR/Communications/journalism degree or equivalent.  Mature age students wishing to get a start in the PR industry are especially welcomed to apply for this position.

This internship is a paid position. The person must be interested in working for a full 12 months and the position is available immediately.

The position requires up to 30 hours commitment per week, which will be spread out across the five working days.  This position will suit someone who is mature and has a fantastic commitment to customer service.

The successful applicant will work from their own home office, which will allow them the freedom of juggling other responsibilities in their life (such as children, studying etc).  DL COMMS will pay the monthly mobile phone bill of the successful candidate as well as an hourly rate.

Why this internship?

This is a very hands on internship where you will receive one on one mentoring.  Drew Lambert, Director of DL COMMS, is an accomplished communications strategist with more than 15 year’s experience and unrivalled media contacts.  Since being established in 2014, DL COMMS has become the go-to communications authority for entrepreneurs and challenger brands.  Being small brings agility and independence, allowing DL COMMS to deliver a personal, bespoke counsel that is as efficient as it is effective.  For more details, read this… http://www.dlcomms.com.au/about-us

The clients you will be working on

The agency has a broad range of exciting clients, all with brilliant news-driven stories to tell.  They span entertainment and movie PR, consumer technology, fashion/retailing and lifestyle.

These clients will keep you busy and expand your knowledge.  The successful candidate will gain valuable client experience, be involved in the execution of campaigns, and gain a wealth of contacts and exposure within the media industry.

What DL COMMS expects of you

You need to be extremely hard working, passionate, dedicated and focused, and have a fun personality.  This job will suit someone who is able to work at least 4 business working days per week.

As well as being a PR/Communications/journalism student, the successful candidate must be an avid consumer of Australian media.  If you do not have a basic understanding of news, in all of its forms (TV, online, magazines, radio, newspapers, social media etc), you will not be considered for this position.  In your cover letter, it is essential you can demonstrate your interest in news media.

You will not be expected to know every single outlet or social media channel, but you must have an appreciation and want to learn.   It goes without saying, you must have excellent writing skills to be considered.

As the role will eventually involve speaking with media, the person must also have an outgoing personality, confidence and mature phone manner.

Does this sound like you?

Please send a CV and a detailed cover letter explaining why you fit the above requirements and email to Drew Lambert.  In your cover letter – please respond to all the requirements of this position.  People who send template cover letters will not be considered.
