Polite Social is a high-end, experiential photography and marketing company. We provide social photo, GIF and video solutions at brand activations, corporate events, product launches and private parties.

We’re on the look out for a switched on and dedicated individual to take on the role of Photographic Operations Assistant. This position involves managing the organisation, logistics, and maintenance of the library of photography and video equipment we have across Australia, as well as assisting our projects managers with day-to-day event planning for varied experiential events.

This position would suit an organised all-rounder – you need to think ahead, adapt quickly to changes in deadlines, technical issues and use of new technologies. In addition to managing equipment and logistics behind the scenes, the role also requires onsite event management work, operating equipment and interacting with clients and guests at events.

You must be happy to travel interstate and work with varied hours throughout the week and weekends – not always your typical 9am-5pm.

Please only apply if available for a minimum of 12 months.

The candidate:
– You will ideally have a Degree in Film/Media/Photography and/or at least 2 years of experience in the film, event or photography industry

– You will ideally have an understanding of Canon, Nikon, and Sony camera systems – the more knowledge the better!

– You will be meticulously organised, have a very strong eye for detail and be confident pulling together photography gear

– Well established understanding and comfort using both Mac and PCs, Google Apps, Dropbox, and Creative Cloud/Adobe Suite software

– Unrestricted driver’s license and ability to drive manual vehicles. (If this is the only criteria you don’t fulfil, please still apply)

– Experience with client interaction/customer service (previous experience in events will be highly regarded)

– You will handle yourself under pressure.

– You’ll be flexible to work non-traditional hours (nights and weekends)

– Able to lift 32kg
