Our client will be opening boutiques across Australia in 2018 and will require an experienced National Retail Manager who demonstrates success in meeting timelines and the ability to contribute high level strategy recommendations as part of the senior executive team.

Job summary:

The role of the National Retail Manager is to deliver a leading-edge customer experience for all the boutiques nationally and deliver on agreed retail objectives, sales and financial targets. The role monitors the day to day performance of boutiques, to maximise and deliver profitable sales whilst managing costs in line with budget.

The key focus of the role is to create memorable people experiences across your teams and customers alike.

The role also leads, manages and coaches the retail boutique teams to ensure budgets, profits, CRM, sales expectations and visual standards are met.

Objectives for the role include:

Sales Management

  • Delivers profitable sales growth balanced with and an engaging customer experience.
  • Engages with the boutique sales team and takes a bottom up approach to develop sales plans and strategies to achieve agreed targets
  • Directs sales activities across boutiques nationally to deliver on customer service standards and sales targets.
  • Drives performance to achieve company sales and profit targets through boutiques.

In-Boutique Experience

  • Ensures boutiques create desire, enhance the brand experience and deliver on style and sophistication
  • Acts as a customer advocate for the brand, ensuring boutiques deliver retail excellence.
  • Ensures boutiques teams deliver excellence in customer service

CRM Management

  • Works with key stakeholder’s cross functionally on CRM campaigns
  • Plans and delivers CRM activities within the Boutiques to acquire new customers, retain existing customers and increase brand loyalty
  • Seeks feedback from Boutique teams and monitors data / analytics on customer activities, to develop and drive acquisition and up-selling solutions.

Budget Management

  • Monitors boutiques financial performance and metrics on a regular basis
  • Embeds processes and initiatives to both maximise and meet stores financial and operational targets.
  • Works with the Merchandise Planning Manager and prepares store sales budgets and forecasts in conjunction with monthly and quarterly expectations

Leadership

  • Provides direction, leadership, guidance, support and daily management to direct reports
  • Coaches, mentors, motivates and develops direct reports and boutique team members
  • Recruits new boutique team members and implements succession plans which are regularly reviewed to develop career paths for team members
  • Actively manages team members through scheduling regular meetings, quarterly one on one discussions and annual performance reviews

Stock Management and Loss Prevention

  • Maximises, controls and maintains inventory within the guidelines to maximise sales
  • Ensures all team members understand and comply with the policies and procedures relating to loss prevention
  • Ensures stocktake are planned and executed in accordance with the stocktake timetable

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Previous multi-site experience in a similar role at a National level
  • 5–10 years’ experience with proven experience in managing new boutique opening projects
  • You will be articulate and composed in your approach with a superior knowledge of local and international luxury/designer fashion spaces
  • Retail background with experience ideally in premium luxury fashion products 
  • Customer experience driven who understands the in-store experience and visual presentation
  • Strong people management skills and effective at engaging and providing strong direction and vision to team. Able to attract and retain the best talent and is strong at building high performing teams.
  • Fashion forward inspirational leader who is an innovative thinker with a passion for all aspects of retail leadership, operations, brand experience and the proven ability to build effective teams nationally
