Closes 18 Dec 2020

Who are we?

Eva wants to help fill your home with beautiful, functional and affordable furniture. With our laser focus on design, marketing and customer-centricity,  we’re launching new products all designed in-house and we want you to jump on board as we accelerate towards becoming Australia’s leading digital furniture company.

Overview of the role:

It’s not just about looking pretty around here. We’re just about function as we are about design as we are about data as we are about constantly optimising. Does this sound like you too?

Being an entirely online company means that we are always looking for improvements to our store – be it optimising web pages for maximum speed and scalability, through to coding pages from scratch to generate new traffic and better conversion rates. You’ll be an integral member of the team in bringing our ecommerce store into a fully headless enterprise. Think end-to-end flow of web production starting from conceptual design with our creative team to incredible website experiences for our customers. Exciting, no?

Working in an agile team, you’re the type of Front-End Web Developer who enjoys working with data driven decisions and value iterative experimentation. Tricky situations are always met with lateral thinking and a solution forward mindset. And you’re not shy to share your technical know-how with the team. We’d like to think of you as someone who strikes the perfect balance between functional and aesthetic design and feel at ease when collaborating with cross functional teams to improve the functionality and user friendliness of our web app.

In this role, you’ll be at the helm of translating UI/UX design wireframes into actual code that will produce visual elements of the application. Working with the UI/UX designer, you’ll bridge the gap between graphical design and technical implementation, taking an active role on both sides and defining how the application looks as well as how it works.

Here are some more of your specific responsibilities:

  • Work with UX and graphic designers to convert mockups to responsive user-friendly web pages for optimised customer experiences
  • Maintain and improve mobile and web applications in line with core web vitals
  • Work with our lead designer for testing and debugging multiple browsers and platforms
  • Translate UI/UX wireframes into codes
  • Collaborate with back-end developers, UX designer and web designers to improve usability
  • Get feedback from, and build solutions for, users and customers
  • Write functional requirement documents and guides such as building reusable code and libraries for future use
  • Keep up to date with SEO best practices and be the “go-to” for technical and development queries
  • Maintain brand consistency throughout design.
  • Contribute heavily to the architectural solution of projects as they arise

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2+ years as a front end developer or a similar role
  • Experience with Javascript/jQuery, HTML, CSS, and Github
  • Experience working with Shopify .liquid files
  • Understanding of SEO principles and ensuring application adheres to them.
  • Understanding of the Agile methodology
  • Experience with eCommerce websites are a plus
  • Good problem solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Incredible attention to detail to the point where tables may be flipped if the code’s not perfect
