Based in the heart of Sydney, this is an exciting opportunity to get involved with Ted’s Cameras, a leader in the Specialty Photographic Retail Industry with over 250 employees working across 22 retail stores around Australia. As our Event Manager, you will be delivering events on behalf of Ted’s Cameras and our wholesale partners at our new Sydney flagship location due to open in April 2018. 

This newly created position requires an experienced and exceptional Event Manager who will work together with the CEO, Ted’s Executive Team, Wholesale Suppliers, Store Staff and Presenters to develop events that will engage the public, photographic enthusiasts and industry professionals alike. 

The applicant will be capable of managing and organising successful and flawless events, organisational and time management skills and be able to use initiative in a dynamic and busy environment. You will be responsible to ensure that the event space is always active by scheduling events of interest that will set Ted’s Camera Stores apart from its competitors in the provision of photographic training and events that are interesting, inspiring and educational. The role will suit a self-motivated, organised and experienced event professional.

Responsibilities included but not limited to: 

• Venue management and outsourced elements including AV & catering, booking management

• Maintain and manage event budgets and adhere to deadlines

• Implement a comprehensive strategy and manage multiple detailed events 

• Develop and execute event marketing and communication activities from inception through to execution (including marketing materials, eDMs, social media, direct mail etc)

• Develop an event strategy that encompasses the event space, event revenue, brand partnerships and marketing online content and event promotion 

• Management of event content online, regular email campaigns and registrations management 

• Developing ideas, coordinating and liaising with suppliers on promotions in-store and digital. 

• Speaker/sponsor liaison as required 

• Create event documentation including running sheets, name badges, miscellaneous printing, consolidating presentations etc


Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Event Management 

• Must have 3 + years of experience managing events from inception to completion from large scale to small events

• Excellent communication, initiative and follow-up skills essential

• Superb organisation skills, strong attention to detail and ability to oversee multiple events concurrently

• Must be able to maintain positive relationships and ensure effective communications with colleagues, suppliers, external partners, store staff and presenters

• Proficient in Microsoft Office products

• Flexible hours are required as some events may need to be arranged and hosted outside of regular business hours including weekends, public holidays and evenings 

• Capacity to be flexible and undertake the range of duties efficiently
