Formed in 2012, Activate Entertainment has become a leader in digital technology and media arts education delivering workshops and programs designed to excite, engage and educate using creativity combined with storytelling in schools and businesses across Australia. Activate Entertainment embeds technological advancements like device-based filmmaking and augmented reality into sophisticated storytelling to assist in building the next generation of creative practitioners.   The company has built significant relationships with local councils and libraries, government departments, nationwide festivals, and a broad range of businesses in the private sector, big and small. The company’s ability to deliver high-quality content has lead to a variety of opportunities including the exciting contract we are recruiting for.

OVERVIEW
These roles will work with existing Activate staff to execute the physical delivery of a contract which Activate Entertainment has been engaged to deliver across regional Queensland. The deliverables include the upskilling of students and teachers in Digital Technologies with the focus being on content creation through engaging educational experiences and improving the adoption of digital technologies in regional classrooms across Queensland through the sharing of digital stories.

ESSENTIAL
Activate Entertainment is seeking adventurous, outgoing, enthusiastic educators with a strong interest in film, technology, and a passion for our next generations learnings. The successful applicants must have demonstrated previous experience in education and/or facilitation with strong behaviour management skills. A professional communication etiquette and sound commercial acumen in education is also required. The ability to commence on the date listed is essential with no leave planned during the contract dates. Due to the level of independence associated to these roles, all applicants must have sound organisational and problem solving skills and be able to apply good judgement.

DESIRABLE
Educational qualifications are not essential, but will assist applicants in the successful execution of this project. Previous experience in child education is recommended. Sound knowledge on emerging technology such as touch devices, virtual reality, robotics and coding, or your own ability to adopt and immerse in digital technologies will be assessed. A strong understanding of video editing will place potential candidates in a favourable position.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
The successful candidates will be required to travel extensively throughout Queensland and be away from Brisbane for extended periods of time. Mandatory paid overtime and travel days will be necessary on occasions. A valid Driver’s Licence is required and a new Working with Children Check number must be provided by successful applicants prior to commencement.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Successful applicants will be responsible for delivering creative and technology driven workshops, presentations and facilitating screenings of students works. All contributing to an exciting festival-like experience for the young people of regional Queensland. You will influence primary school students and their teachers to use digital technologies through the facilitation and delivery of Activates filmmaking experiences and the demonstration of emerging technologies. Other duties include executing the daily schedule supplied and moving from location to location daily/weekly. You will provide the Project Manager essential data, feedback and observations for monthly reporting, and must conduct themselves in a professional manner at all times.
