SmartCompany is seeking a curious, fast-working content writer to seek out new story sources and create quick-read articles for its audience of small businesses, startups and entrepreneurs.

This is a casual role for an initial period of six weeks, working six-hour shifts Monday to Friday. The right candidate will be a talented, self-directed writer with a knack for finding interesting stories, trends and developments in the world of business and startups that anyone with an entrepreneurial spirit will gravitate to and want to share.

While you may come from a journalism background, you may also have had extensive experience or interest in copywriting, creative writing, or social media management. You’re a passionate consumer of digital media, have an instinct for the content that ‘sticks’ and be adept at using platforms such as WordPress and Pixlr.

Knowledge of media law and SEO tactics, as well as an understanding of Google analytics, will be extremely advantageous. Someone with an energetic and collaborative approach is a must.

Submit your expression of interest, resume and two examples of previous work to [email protected] by August 22nd.
