The House From ‘The Castle’ Is Apparently Becoming A Tourist Attraction

There isn’t one Aussie who doesn’t froth on The Castle, that salt-of-the-earth 1997 film about a regular joe family from the ‘burbs who goes up against ~The Man~ to keep his house, and wins.

When the actual, real house went up for sale this year, people were stressed as hell. Would some big-wig property developer buy it and turn it into apartments – eerily mirroring the film’s entire theme?

Thankfully, that’s not what happened. The property – located in Strathmore, VIC – was bought by George Fendyk and Geoffrey Lucas for $40,000. The reason it went so cheap? They bought the house alone… and have moved it to a completely different suburb.

The house will now be located in Beechwood, and the owners plan to make it a tourist attraction at a caravan park they’re building. So that means you could very soon hopefully tour The Castle house.

Honestly if this happens I will be GLADLY making a trip to VIC purely to walk the linoleum floors of the Kerrigan kitchen.
