Ikea’s Gonna Start Flogging Bluetooth Speakers That Actually Look Excellent

Ikea is coming for your music, folks, announcing its very own range of shmick Bluetooth speakers named Eneby.

They come in either black or grey in two different sizes: 20 x 20cm or 30 x 30cm. While these bad boys come pretty well fully assembled, there’s a couple of options to add on if you feel the need, like a battery pack with up to 10 hours of power, or a handle for portability.

As you’d expect from the Swedish flat-pack lords, Eneby looks like something that actually belongs out in the open in your home, complete with a single dial on its cute polyester-covered face.

In terms of functionality, the unit will let you pair up to eight Bluetooth devices to it, but also packs a 3.5mm auxiliary jack if you’d prefer a cabled experience. There’s no audio specs listed on the product site, but it does look like there’s a separate tweeter and woofer.

Furthermore, Eneby even has an auto-off function so it’s not sucking up juice when you’re not using it. A separate wall mount is also available if you own your house or think your landlord is cool with you drilling holes in the wall.

While the speaker will make it to Australia eventually, there’s no confirmed date, so you might have to wait a little while yet, an Ikea spokeswoman confirmed with P.TV. There’s no word on price, but they’re selling for $US49 ($63), and $US89 ($115) for the bigger one in the US.

You can check out the US product page here in the meantime.
