The Dreamy Italian Villa From ‘Call Me By Your Name’ Is Officially For Sale

The dreamy, Italian villa from Call Me By Your Name is officially up for sale, so obviously you, I, and everybody else obsessed with this film is moving there immediately.

The countryside villa that served as the sun-drenched backdrop for Luca Guadagnino‘s love story went on the market for €1.7 million, which roughly translates to AU $2.68 million, a.k.a. a reasonable price for anyone familiar with Sydney‘s housing market.

It’s located in the picturesque town of Cremona in Lombardy, northern Italy, which Guadagnino chose as a filming location because he was so familiar with it.

“I had known that house for many years; I even dreamed of buying that house,” he told Architectural Digest last year.

“One I realised that I couldn’t afford it and didn’t really want it for my life, I knew where I was going to set the action of the film – this place with faded, aristocratic charm, that a professor and his wife might have inherited but can’t quite keep up.”

Although the official real estate pictures are decidedly lacking some of the magic of the set, it still has that slightly dulled charm Guadagnino spoke of.

For example, here’s the set of Professor’s study (and scene of his gut-wrenching speech to Elio)…

… and here’s the study in real life.

Angles, people. They make everything.

Still, there’s no doubt that this house is the epitome of dreaminess, and simply requires a solid coat of paint and perhaps a lawnmower here or there.

The house itself is a fortified noble villa from the 16th century, according to the listing, and is under the protection of artistic and historical interest.

To be quite honest with you, I’m not sure I could ever use the blue bathroom (and yes, it would be called the blue bathroom) without becoming overwhelmed by the unfathomable amount of sexual tension in this shot alone.

Head over to the official listing if you want to see all the pics and/or have a cool few million handy.
