This Cheeky Water Bottle Tricks You Into Thinking Yr H2O Is Tasty Flavours

Dya hate drinking water?
ooooooh yea no this is delicious
‘Hate’ might be a bit too strong a word, but if you get really bored trying to drink your 2L a day, this nifty lil invention might just be the product to quench your thirst.
20-year-old pre-med student Saef Munir has invented the ‘Flavour Bottle’, a vessel that transforms water from a bland necessity to a fruity treat, meaning you’ll never cop the shitty side effects of dehydration ever again (hopefully).
The bottle is just a regular water bottle, ‘cept it has a scented silicone spout. Having this smelly piece of plastic near your nostrils supposedly tricks your brain into thinking the water you’re drinking is flavoured, when in reality, it’s just bog standard H2O.
As implausible as it might sound, the science is there; smell accounts for up to 80% of our taste, so sniffing a cherry flavoured scent, for example, might come close to the real Dr. Pepper experience.
Flavour Bottle is currently raising funds on Kickstarter and at time of writing, it’s sitting pretty with $7,216 of its $30,000 goal and about a month to go.
If the fundraiser gets off the ground, there’ll be a variety of tastes to choose from. Strawberry, watermelon, orange, grape and cola (which can be ‘augmented’ by filling the bottle with carbonated water) will all be on the menu. The cost of each bottle starts at $20, and if Munir’s campaign is successful, they’ll start shipping midyear.
“I am a future medical school student who had the idea when I was in my college anatomy class and learned about the connection between taste and smell,” Munir told Digital Trends
“I’ve worked on this product for the past three years, starting with a scented water bottle cap, scented ring, and eventually to a prototype scented straw and then scented spout. The straw worked the best because drinking through it allowed a person to breathe in while drinking, while the ring and cap did not work as well because a person had to consciously smell and drink at the same time. That is how we came to create the scented spout.”

Each flav purportedly lasts up to twelve months, depending on how often you’re suckin’ back. Once it does run out, you can buy new stinky lids to replace the old ones.

“We think it’s great for people who are trying to get in their water goals, but can’t because of their addiction to sugary drinks,” Munir continued.
Amen. God bless.
