Lady Gardens are sensitive thickets that deserve to be paid the utmost attention and care in amongst all that waxing, shaving and plucking of ingrowns.
Human sunbeam Emma Watson clearly understands this, because she’s discussed oiling up her pubic hair to keep it at its fluffy best year-round.
Sharing her entire beauty regime with Into The Gloss – from the deo she buys (it’s all-natural) to the virtues of a good bath (she has one “every single day”) – Emma opened up about the amazing all-purpose product she uses… all over.
“I use Fur Oil,”
she said. “I’ll use that anywhere from the ends of my hair to my eyebrows to my pubic hair. It’s an amazing all-purpose product.”
If you’re flummoxed by the mental image of Belle massaging oil into her hoohah, don’t be: pubic hair oils are actually pretty common. When used daily, people wax lyrical about their ability to make coarse pubes baby-soft and even help clear pores to prevent painful ingrowns cropping up.
The Fur Oil packaging is quite literally emblazoned with ‘FOR PUBIC HAIR’ but, if you chuck that in the bin, the bottle is cute /discreet enough to take pride of place on any bathroom counter.
Emma also talked about how important it is not to edit out all the ‘real’ elements of her beauty routine – like oiling her pubes, and bleaching the peach fuzz on her top lip.
“It’s funny – I was just talking to my friend before this about how in the Instagram era it’s so easy to edit your life so that it looks perfect. But I bleach my top lip and tweeze my eyebrows and you’d never get to see that, even though it’s a part of my routine. There’s still so much shame around the things you do to get ready while you’ve got a towel wrapped around your head. It’s important to me not to edit that out.”
Keep speaking your truth, gurl.
