Aussie VS Model Bridget Malcolm Imparts Her Winged-Workout Wisdom

With an Instagram bio that reads “Worldwide Australian model. Worldwide oboist. Worldwide worldwider”, it’s pretty obvious Bridget Malcolm hasn’t lost touch, despite her modelling success.
She’s packed a fair bit into her 23-years on Planet Earth. The Perth native has been the global face for high-end brands like Ralph Lauren, Burberry, Hugo Boss and Tommy Hilfiger, and last year she walked on a small, low-key runway some may recognise as belonging to a woman called Victoria, harbouring a big Secret.

Same.
If you aren’t already feeling a serious Alison Ashley vibe, you should know she’s a trained ballerina, a top class Oboist (Google that) and is engaged to Walking Shapes frontman, Nathaniel Hoho.

We had a chat to her about how she best likes to sweat and what she misses most about our fair land girt by sea.
With a job that requires so much travel, improvising when and where to exercise is important. Bridget goes for “jump rope, jump squats and crunches” if she’s exercising in a hotel, but tries to get outside if she doesn’t have access to equipment. “I love nothing more than going out for an hour and running,” she says.
Training for the VS catwalk is notoriously intense, and Bridget doesn’t deny that. “I tend to train pretty hard all year round for my work so it was just making sure that I was getting two workouts a day, consistently.” she says. “It was a lot – I slept so much!”

Her top three, go-to workout tunes?

And “anything by Phil Collins“:

Earlier this year, Bridget scored another “dream job” as an ambassador for stalwart Aussie brand, Bonds. “To be chosen as the face of their new sports range was awesome. I love the styles of their pieces – the kind of cuts you can kick ass in then go meet a friend for coffee! Very functional, comfortable and cool.”

Despite now residing in in ‘Murica, there’re still plenny of things she misses about the motherland. Namely, our “coffee and avocado toast.” Can’t blame her, really. “Luckily the rest of the world has caught onto them and I can get some good versions in the USA.”

Loves avo on toast? I guess that makes us twins.
