Nintendo Will Soon Let You Play All Of ‘Zelda: Breath Of The Wild’ In VR

I’m eating my own words, folks, it’s actually happening. Nintendo is making The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild playable in Labo VR, which is the exact opposite of what I said they’d do.

When Labo VR was announced, it looked more akin to Google Cardboard than, say, PSVR or Oculus Rift, in that you need to hold the display to your face with your own hands. Well, that and the fact it’s also made of cardboard, but you know what I’m getting at.

Some parts of Super Mario Odyssey will also be playable, but the company’s actually going to let you play the entirety of Breath of the Wild in glorious VR. I don’t know exactly how it’s going to work, or if an add-on to fasten the kit to your head will be released in the leadup, but it’s pretty cool either way.

You can suss out the announcement trailer below.

As you can see, part of Breath of the Wild’s next update will add the ability to turn on VR mode, which you’ll be able to do in a new game or an existing one if you’re not ready to throw another 200 hours into a new one.

Labo VR will hit shelves on April 12 and according to EB Games, will set you back around $120 for the full set, which includes a bunch of add-ons like an elephant and shit. You can read more about it below if you’re keen.
